Tribeca

TriBeCa is a neighborhood located in the downtown Manhattan area. The name is actually a syllabic abbreviation of the words "Triangle Below Canal Street." TriBeCa runs roughly from Canal Street south to Park Place, and from the Hudson River east to Broadway. TriBeCa was once an industrial district, but in recent years has undergone a major revitalization. Many of the warehouses in TriBeCa have been converted into loft apartments. This has also led to the emergence of many new businesses in the area. TriBeCa is grown into a fashionable residential neighborhood with an affluent population. Many of the streets are lined with boutique shops and high-end restaurants such as Bouley, Nobu and Chanterelle.
